The Chief of Staff to the Oyo State Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi, has formally stepped down from his role.
His exit takes immediate effect.
Ogunwuyi conveyed his departure through an official resignation letter submitted to Governor Seyi Makinde. In the document, he confirmed that his decision to leave office takes effect immediately.
Reflecting on his tenure, the outgoing political appointee expressed appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the governance of the state.
He praised the joint efforts of the cabinet in advancing the development goals of Oyo State and offered warm wishes for the continued progress of the administration. He did not disclose specific reasons behind his sudden resignation or outline his immediate future plans.
Prior to assuming the chief of staff position, Ogunwuyi built an extensive career in public service, including stints as a lawmaker in both the Oyo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly.
His departure marks another notable exit from the state government, coming after several political appointees have vacated their positions over the past two months.
