PARIS — French giants Paris Saint-Germain Féminines have confirmed that Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade will undergo surgery after sustaining a fractured fibula during international duty with Nigeria.
The 26-year-old forward suffered the injury in the 23rd minute of Nigeria’s 2028 Olympic Games qualifying match against Comoros at the Remo Stars Sports Complex in Ikenne, Ogun State. She was subsequently replaced by Folashade Ijamilusi as the Super Falcons went on to secure a 5-0 victory, completing a 7-0 aggregate triumph.
In an official medical update released by the Parisian club, PSG revealed that the Nigerian international will undergo an operation performed by leading specialist surgeons before commencing her post-operative rehabilitation under the supervision of the club’s medical staff.
“Rasheedat Ajibade, who was injured during Nigeria’s most recent national team match against Comoros, has suffered a fibula fracture,” the club stated in their official communication.
While PSG noted that a definitive timeline for her recovery will be communicated following the procedure, the surgery effectively sidelines the influential forward for upcoming club fixtures and national team assignments.
