BENIN CITY — The Edo State Government has finalized plans to execute immediate remedial interventions on critical failed sections of the busy Oluku road corridor to alleviate hardship for motorists and commuters.
The Permanent Secretary of the Edo State Ministry of Works, Mr. John Obanor, made the disclosure during an official briefing with journalists in Benin City on Monday.
Obanor explained that the intervention became imperative following severe road deterioration in the Oluku area, which has caused gridlock, prolonged travel times, and severe economic disruptions along the vital transport artery.
He noted that while infrastructure maintenance requires continuous attention, the state ministry is deploying engineering teams to stabilize the damaged portions and restore smooth vehicular flow.
“The Edo State Government is taking prompt steps to intervene on the failed portions of the Oluku road. Our goal is to address the hardship motorists are currently experiencing and restore seamless movement along that critical corridor,” Obanor stated.
The Ministry of Works reiterated its commitment to sustaining proactive road maintenance across key transit corridors in the state, assuring residents that repair works on the Oluku stretch will commence swiftly.
