Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have formally declared their full support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid.Governor Soludo made the pledge during the official inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, where he was appointed as the Anambra State Coordinator for the President’s campaign.
Speaking at the inauguration, Soludo described President Tinubu’s economic reform agenda as a difficult but necessary step toward nation-building. He noted that a second term for the President would accelerate Nigeria’s transition from economic stabilization to shared prosperity under a framework of “pragmatic progressivism”. ”The path that you have chosen — that you have had the courage to take — is a difficult but necessary and required path,” Soludo said.
“In the second term, I believe there will be an acceleration in the transformation — going from stability and reform to shared prosperity. Why change a winning team? If it is not broken, why fix it?”
Reaffirming APGA’s stance, Soludo maintained that the party remains a steadfast partner in President Tinubu’s journey back to Aso Rock and in the broader governance process.
In a supporting statement, the leadership of APGA reiterated that the party had previously adopted President Tinubu as its consensus candidate during its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, resolving not to field a presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The party clarified that while it maintains firm control of political leadership in Anambra State, its strategic electoral directive for the state remains: “Tinubu for President, APGA for Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly”.
The development highlights a growing cross-party “rainbow coalition” supporting the President’s 2027 campaign, drawing key opposition political figures into the APC campaign structure to push for regional development and continuity in governance.
