Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has asserted that the Federal Government’s elimination of petrol subsidies has expanded revenue allocation to state governments, facilitating increased investments in public infrastructure and regional security.
Speaking to supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during a grassroots mobilization tour across Okpella, Agenebode, and Fugar in Etsako East and Etsako Central Local Government Areas, Okpebholo commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for executing the fiscal reform.
He noted that plugging revenue leakages previously tied to the subsidy regime has freed up vital funds for subnational governance, yielding tangible improvements across key sectors—particularly national security.
