Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has pledged to recommend Julius Adamu, a former chairmanship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, to President Bola Tinubu for appointment as Chairman of the FCT Universal Basic Education Commission.
Wike made the disclosure during a political engagement in Bwari Area Council, explaining that the recommendation comes following Adamu’s decision to step down from his political ambition and align with the ruling All Progressives Congress to support the current administration.
Addressing political leaders and supporters at the event, the minister stated that he would personally forward Adamu’s credentials to the President to lead the basic education board in the territory.
”Immediately I leave here, I will send this name to Mr. President for an appointment,” Wike said. “He will be the man I will recommend to Mr. President for him to be in charge of FCT UBEC.”
The minister reassured residents that the Tinubu-led government remains dedicated to advancing infrastructure and educational development across all six area councils in the Federal Capital Territory.
He urged party members and community stakeholders to guard against political distractions and maintain unified support for the administration’s long-term developmental agenda.
