The Oba of Benin, His Royal Majesty Ewuare II, has offered special prayers across sacred heritage sites in Benin City as part of the activities marking his 10th anniversary on the throne of his forebears.
The traditional spiritual rites were performed by the ancient Ewaise palace group, accompanied by a vibrant procession of royal horse riders who previously featured during the anniversary’s grand Durbar.
According to palace sources, the monarch undertook the sacred pilgrimage to deepen spiritual connections with ancestors and invoke peace, protection, and prosperity for the Benin Kingdom in the years ahead.
The royal delegation visited key historical and spiritual locations across the ancient city, including the ancestral Usama Palace via Ode-Obaiwu and the historic Iyoba (Queen Mother) statue in Uselu.
The pilgrimage highlights a major feature of the ongoing two-month coronation anniversary celebrations, honoring a decade of cultural restoration, peace, and traditional leadership under the 40th Oba of Benin.
