MAKKAH — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has hosted members of the Nigerian delegation to a dinner in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia, offering prayers for national unity and calling on citizens to transform Nigeria’s rich ethnic and religious diversity into a source of economic prosperity, peace, and sustainable development.
Speaking during the gathering on Sunday, November 1, 2026, President Tinubu emphasized that the nation’s abundant human and natural resources, coupled with the talent and enterprise of its diverse population, provide a strong foundation for building an inclusive and prosperous country.
The President prayed for divine wisdom, courage, and guidance for Nigeria’s leadership to steer the country toward sustainable growth and improved living conditions for all citizens. Urging Nigerians of all faiths and backgrounds to remain united in the national interest, President Tinubu expressed confidence that through collective determination and faith in Almighty Allah, Nigeria will overcome its economic challenges and realize its full potential. “May Almighty Allah bless Nigeria, convert our diversity into prosperity as a country,” the President prayed.
Reaffirming the private sector’s support, the Chairman of BUA Group, Alhaji Abdul Samad Rabiu, praised President Tinubu’s passion and commitment to national development. “Today is actually the third dinner we’re having with His Excellency Mr President since we came to Makkah. We discussed, and the discussion was to always continue to pray for Nigeria, for peace, for unity and for Nigeria’s prosperity,” Rabiu said. He added: “Only Allah can reward you; we will continue to pray for you daily and pray for Nigeria that you lead. May Allah continue to strengthen you in making the right decisions, strengthen your wisdom, your boldness, your audacity, your courage. May Allah lead you to the right path”.
Joining in prayers, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), asked Almighty Allah to strengthen the President in his determination to deliver effective governance and justice to all Nigerians regardless of religion or ethnicity. The dinner was attended by prominent dignitaries, including Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, Jigawa State Governor Mohammed Namadi, Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu, and Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum.
Also present were the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate; National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu; CEO of Oando Plc, Mr. Wale Tinubu; Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ibrahim Kabiru Masari; and Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
