ABUJA — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded the nationwide preliminary register of voters to its dedicated online platform to allow public inspection and verification ahead of the upcoming electoral cycle.
The digital release, announced in a statement by Mohammed Kudu Haruna, Chairman of INEC’s Information and Voter Education Committee, provides citizens direct access to inspect their personal details and identify potential errors via the portal ([https://display.inecnigeria.org](https://display.inecnigeria.org)).
This digital deployment complements the earlier physical display of the preliminary list conducted at registration areas across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The commission emphasized that expanding access through an online portal fulfills statutory requirements set out under Section 19 of the Electoral Act 2026 while reinforcing public confidence, accountability, and transparency in the election preparations.
Through the online platform, registered citizens can review their details—including names, photographs, and polling unit allocations—to ensure accuracy. The platform also enables voters to flag omissions, incorrect information, or ineligible entries during the ongoing review phase.
INEC confirmed that administrative processing of all claims and objections submitted by citizens remains ongoing. Following the completion of verification procedures, the electoral body is scheduled to issue the certified final register of voters on December 15, 2026.
For voters across the federation, the commission advised early verification on the web portal to prevent voting complications on election day.
