ABUJA — Nigerian politician and businessman, Senator Ned Nwoko, has issued a public appeal requesting bloggers, social media commentators, and fans to give Nollywood actress Regina Daniels privacy as she recovers from undisclosed health challenges, while warning of legal action against those circulating fabricated reports about her.
In a official statement released on Monday, Senator Nwoko expressed deep concern over the spread of harmful misinformation, specifically targeting fake death announcements, misleading stories, and clickbait publications concerning Daniels’ well-being.
He emphasized that the appeal was made not only for Daniels’ recovery, but also to protect the emotional well-being of their children.
Nwoko noted that the health challenges referenced in a recent birthday video shared by the actress have caused her significant distress, which has been exacerbated by unverified online rumors.
Setting a strict boundary regarding online coverage, Nwoko confirmed that legal representatives are actively documenting defamatory publications, warning that those generating or amplifying fabricated content about Daniels will face prosecution through appropriate legal channels.
