In a bid to foster public education, dispel common industry misconceptions, and deepen media relations across West Africa, global direct-selling, wellness, and lifestyle giant QNET hosted a high-level virtual media webinar themed “Beyond the Headlines: Insights from VCON 2026.”
The interactive session served as an open engagement platform between QNET leadership and Nigerian journalists who attended previous editions of the company’s flagship global convention—the V-Convention in Penang, Malaysia—to share their unvarnished, firsthand experiences regarding QNET’s business model, product innovations, and global footprint.
Opening the session, QNET’s Head of Communications and Global PR, Marlene Kaur, delivered a warm welcome address to press participants, highlighting the brand’s sustained effort to build lasting bridges with media professionals and provide clear visibility into its global operations.
Following her remarks, Regional General Manager for Central and West Africa at QNET, Cheriff Bassirou Abdoulaye Sarr, emphasized the strategic intersection of wellness, technology, and ethical entrepreneurship within the direct-selling model.
Abdoulaye reiterated QNET’s unwavering commitment to global excellence, business integrity, and ethical conduct, noting that media collaboration is essential for consumer protection.
He stressed that the role of the media is critical to their mission and that QNET remains fully committed to continuous engagement and collaboration with press partners across Nigeria and West Africa to ensure transparent, accurate, and fact-based information reaches the public.
Address points were also raised regarding the brand’s zero-tolerance policy towards fraud, where QNET firmly distanced itself from impostors and unauthorized syndicates recently apprehended by law enforcement agencies, reiterating that legitimate direct selling operates on transparency, accountability, and legal compliance.
The highlight of the event was a panel discussion featuring four Nigerian journalists who recounted how attending past QNET global conventions reshaped their perspective on the direct-selling sector.
Francis Sule spoke on the massive scale and vibrant energy of the gathering, sharing that experiencing the convention firsthand exposed him to over 8,000 diverse participants from across the world, and the sheer size, energy, and level of commitment demonstrated by QNET was truly overwhelming and commendable.
Friday Olokor emphasized QNET’s 28-year track record of excellence, stating that before attending the event, he knew very little about QNET’s operational structure, but being there opened his eyes completely, showing that QNET’s 28-year history demonstrates proven expertise, resilience, and commitment—qualities other organizations should emulate.
Continuing the discussion, Royal Ibeh highlighted the brand’s focus on science-backed consumer solutions, pointing out that QNET stands out for how seamlessly it infuses science and cutting-edge technology into everyday health and lifestyle products, with solutions such as their advanced water purifiers and wellness pendants directly addressing real-world health and environmental challenges.
Prince Osuagwu addressed initial skepticism and underscored the importance of public verification, explaining that he was personally skeptical before attending the conference, but seeing the operations with his own eyes put all wrong notions and false narratives carried about QNET to rest in his mind as the truth was amplified, while advising members of the public who are unfamiliar with direct selling to always verify facts through legitimate channels before engaging.
As QNET continues to expand its footprint in Africa, the company reiterated its dedication to maintaining standard direct-selling ethics, financial literacy, and absolute consumer safety.
Adding an exciting climax to the event, the webinar featured an engaging interactive quiz competition designed to test participating media delegates on their knowledge of QNET’s operations, business history, and global impact. The lively contest served as the highlight of the session, spurring friendly competition among journalists while reinforcing key facts about the brand’s direct-selling model, products, and 28-year legacy.
The webinar concluded with a mutual resolve between QNET and Nigerian media executives to maintain continuous dialogue, ensuring everyday citizens are protected while accessing genuine entrepreneurship and wellness opportunities.
