‘Marriage Is Not The Core Of My Existence’: Bisola Aiyeola Speaks On Relationships, Single Motherhood

LAGOS — Nollywood actress, singer, and media personality Bisola Aiyeola has declared that marriage is not the defining pillar of her life, stating that personal fulfillment and happiness take priority over societal expectations.

The Big Brother Naija star made the declaration during a recent media interview while reflecting on public scrutiny surrounding single motherhood and relationship status in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Addressing widespread societal pressure on unmarried women, Aiyeola explained that while she remains open to companionship, her primary focus remains self-development, her career, and raising her daughter.

“Marriage is wonderful, but it is not the core of my existence or the ultimate measure of a woman’s success,” Aiyeola stated. “My happiness, peace of mind, and personal growth come first. If companionship happens along the way with the right person, that is great, but my life is whole and complete as it is.”

Aiyeola also highlighted the resilience required of single mothers, urging women to build financial independence and self-worth rather than seeking external validation through marriage.
