ABUJA, Nigeria — The African Action Congress (AAC) has formally written to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu requesting permission to host the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council for candidate Omoyele Sowore inside the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
In a letter dispatched on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the opposition party urged the presidency to provide venue access along with meals, refreshments, and logistical assistance for 5,000 national and international delegates slated to attend the ceremony on November 11, 2026.
The AAC communication challenges the incumbent administration to demonstrate political fairness and equal access.
Party leadership maintained that public infrastructure must serve all citizens without ideological bias, asserting that political parties deserve uniform privileges and noting that its demands mirror similar state-supported arrangements previously granted to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
