The Kaduna State Government has disowned a viral memo circulating on social media which purported that Governor Uba Sani approved and released ₦2.3 trillion from state coffers for All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign activities and presidential rally flag-offs, describing the document as a criminal forgery.
Addressing press men in Kaduna on Saturday, October 24, the State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, stated that the document was completely fabricated by political detractors seeking to mislead the public and undermine the credibility of the state administration.
Malam Maiyaki emphasized that since Governor Sani assumed office on May 29, 2023, the state government has operated strictly under principles of fiscal discipline, transparency, and accountability, prioritizing critical sectors such as security, health, education, and rural development.
“The alleged memo is an absolute fabrication and a product of malicious intent,” Maiyaki declared. “Political competition must be conducted within the bounds of truth, decency, and the law. The deliberate fabrication of government correspondence and circulation of false financial claims cannot be justified as legitimate political criticism.”
The commissioner disclosed that state security agencies and law enforcement authorities have been formally petitioned to investigate the origin of the forged document and prosecute those responsible for impersonation and forgery.
The state government urged news organizations, social media commentators, and members of the public to exercise caution and verify official information through designated state government channels before publication.
