The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled a heavily revised and expanded national campaign council list for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid, incorporating high-profile figures from across diverse political platforms. Among the newly announced appointments are Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, and Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who have all been designated as regional campaign coordinators.
Under the updated structure, Wike will handle campaign mobilization responsibilities for Rivers State and the FCT, while Soludo and Adeleke will direct grassroots strategy within Anambra and Osun states respectively.
The integration of cross-party figures underscores a broader political coalition strategy by the ruling party ahead of the upcoming general elections. Wike remains a prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Soludo secured his mandate under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and Adeleke won his office on the platform of the Accord party. Alongside these state-level coordinators, the ruling party adjusted several executive leadership positions within the campaign structure. Senate President Godswill Akpabio, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq were elevated to serve as Deputy Vice-Chairmen I, II, and III, respectively.
Other key operational appointments on the updated roster include Works Minister David Umahi as Deputy Director-General for Infrastructure and Sensitisation, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as Director of Finance, and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun alongside National Revenue Service Chairman Zacch Adedeji as joint coordinators for fundraising. Additionally, former Super Eagles captain Joseph Yobo was named Deputy Director for Sports Sector Mobilisation, while Dele Alake continues his role as the official campaign spokesman.
The newly reorganized council is scheduled for formal inauguration by President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, signaling the intensified momentum of early electoral alignments.
