Electoral Threat: Omo-Agege Sparks Controversy with Direct ‘Rig and Die’ Warning to Potential Poll Manipulators in Delta State

Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has sparked widespread political debate across the South-South region after declaring a strict “rig and die” warning against electoral offenders attempting to manipulate the 2027 general elections.

Speaking to a gathering of supporters in Delta Central Senatorial District, Omo-Agege—who is contesting for the Senate seat under the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC)—asserted that the era of peaceful acquiescence to electoral fraud is officially over.

He warned that anyone caught attempting to tamper with ballot boxes or falsify election results would face immediate physical confrontation.

”I want to make the news again: Anybody who rigs the election on that day, we will kill him! If you don’t value your life, come and rig the election,” Omo-Agege declared to supporters.

“They are rigging your future; they are rigging the future of your children. We are waiting for them. Let them try it. It is rig and die. We are going to give them aura for aura. There’s no court this time. We are going to fight.”

Dismissing conventional advice urging aggrieved candidates to seek redress in court, the lawmaker argued that judicial processes often fail to restore stolen mandates.

He urged voters across Delta State to aggressively safeguard their polling units and protect their democratic future from political manipulators.
