National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has asserted that Governor Hope Uzodimma is visibly jittery over the growing momentum of political alliances, maintaining that a formidable rainbow coalition will successfully unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress in Imo State.
Anyanwu issued the sharp political riposte on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, responding directly to cautionary remarks made earlier by Governor Uzodimma warning members of the ruling party against hobnobbing or collaborating with external political networks outside the APC structure.
The PDP chieftain dismissed the governor’s warnings as an expression of political panic, emphasizing that underground opposition alignments and cross-party networks represent an unstoppable mass movement fed up with prevailing governance challenges. According to Anyanwu, the ruling administration’s aggressive posturing against coalition talks exposes deep-seated apprehension regarding its electoral viability ahead of upcoming ballot cycles.
”Governor Uzodimma is jittery because he knows the ground has shifted,” Anyanwu stated through a media aide. “The rainbow coalition is an invisible yet potent force working for a common purpose to rescue Imo State from misgovernance, insecurity, and economic stagnation. No amount of threats or intimidation can stop the collective resolve of Imo people.”
The verbal clash follows heightened political realignments across the southeast region, with opposition figures consolidating strategies under broader coalition umbrellas. While the APC leadership in the state maintains that internal cohesion remains ironclad and dismisses rival alignments as inconsequential, opposition camps insist that the emerging cross-party synergy poses an existential threat to the ruling party’s dominance in the state.
